A nice story
Thomas was named after his two Great Grandads on his mothers side.
Thomas Carr and Alfred Benton
Hence Thomas Benton Moseley
Having been a member of the British Mini Club Alfred Benton was automatically entered into the draw in 1965. As far as I can make out this clipping was handed down and appeared in the Yorkshire Evening post that year and confirms the story of Alfred winning the 1000,001st mini .
I am told the value of the new car would have been around £300 or £400 at this time. Still a Bargin.
Thomas's Grandad Stuart is mentioned as being 19 years old and remembers driving the car around in Yorkshire in the late 60s and early 70s.
A cool link to the great car we think.
Happy days
